Love This Moment {And The Giveaway Winner!!!}

I have to start this long post with apologies that it has taken so long to post my giveaway winner!!
I chose my winner using Random.org, and Random gave the Green Mixed Media Kit from Gauche Alchemy, and the Jenni Bowlin paint dauber in seed packet to:

AVA! Who said:
“Amy, you have a great inspirational blog!!! My eye gravitates towards your style of creativity…. Your video tutorial is great thanks for sharing. I will be back as i sure enjoyed that little lesson mixing gesso and modge p. ava”

Thank you so much, Ava, and I will be sending you an email shortly!

And thank you to everyone who visited and left a sweet comment, I was so thrilled to have so many visitors, and to “meet” so many of you! Each comment made me smile. 😀

Next up….a little more green!  This week over at Punky Scraps is our “get picky” challenge. This challenge is so much fun, and definitely gets my creative juices flowing. Funny thing is, one of the gals chose “green paint”……which I think I’ve used on my last 3 or 4 projects, hehe.  So, I thought I would minimize the paint and the green….but guess what? Ahem…..it found its way onto the page anyway.

I love this picture of my family. It is usually kind of hard to coax everyone to stand still and cooperate for a family photo (okay, it is a monumental task), but in this case, I suggested we do this pose, and though the photo had the depth of field messed up, I still really love it. It’s nice to have everyone smiling and happy. 🙂

In case you want to do a scrappy scavenger hunt, or “where’s waldo” on the scrappy page, here are the items that punky team B picked for us to use:

Kat- kraft cardstock
Marie- a photo of yourself
Kerry- 3 of something
Jolanda- masking and something red
Cheryl W- something metal
Celina- something lucky
Misty- fabric
Ashley- green paint
Kim- something pleated
Mandy- stitching- handmade or faux

I’m having a really hard time leaving burlap off of my pages these days. I just love how it creates such an organic texture.  I adore the tag here, too…..all of them on this page are Jenni Bowlin, and they are perfect…..all in different sizes.

The Smash tape created the most perfect frame for this photo. It’s funny, because I’ve never put together a Smash journal, but I have a TON of Smash stuff (including the journal). They are super fun, and quirky.

The vintage milk cap is from a Jenni Bowlin kit. I kind of hoard them. Not “need an intervention” hoarding, but…..I do have many. When I saw Celina had chosen “something lucky”……the whole Irish thing popped into my head, and I remembered this milk cap. I also have several bottle caps off from Irish beer, so I added a McSorley’s cap to the corner.

The background is stamped in Mix’d Media Inx (Donna Salazar), using a Cocoa Daisy stamp, and sprinkled with blue Zing embossing powder. I then gently went over the top with a credit card, and removed some of the powder.

Lately, I have started to occasionally give myself time limits in creating a page. I’m the type of person that works well under pressure, and setting a limit for when the page should be finished keeps me moving, and helps my creativity flow, instead of fussing over things too much.  I created this page in under an hour, and though I don’t think it’s the best page I’ve ever made, I do think it speaks of my style and personality.  And yes, my personality is a little bit cluttered, a whole lot quirky, some weird, and as Shrek and Donkey say…..I’m like an onion, I’m filled with layers. 😀

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I’ll have a quick post up tomorrow, with a few pictures from a spring break trip to a few art galleries in the city. (That’s what has kept me SO busy these last few days!)
Have a fabulous weekend, gnomies!! 😀
