A St. Patrick’s Day Blog Hop!

I am SO excited that my friend Jessy asked me to participate in an absolutely super cool blog hop today, with some people I see nearly every day. Well, not in real life, but on the social networking app…Instagram! If  you have an iPhone, and you don’t have Instagram……..please go get it immediately (it’s free……so there’s no harm in trying, right?)! 🙂 I promise you will NOT regret it! In fact……I will be your first friend. You can find me on there as: amylynnelassiter ! Instagram connects people through photos, and if you are reading my blog, my guess you are crafty, and probably scrapbook….using photos. Instagram style photos are beautiful, and can be edited beautifully right in your phone (perfect for your scrapbook pages). I really enjoy seeing (literally) glimpses into the lives of people around the world with interests common to mine, as well. Here are a few of the photos I have shared with my Instagram friends (and yes, I drink a ton of coffee, heh):

I  think that you will love hopping to some of my other Instabuddy’s blogs today, and there is the chance of winning a giveaway on EACH blog (and there are 31, to be exact, so you have a lot of chances to win!) These gals are each crafty, and amazingly talented. They will get your inspiration hopping (hehe, pun intended)! If you are a scrappy Instagrammer…..I’m so sorry if  you weren’t invited to the party, it was NOT on purpose. 🙂 It is amazing how many scrappers are all connected, but in some cases we may not have met each other yet!

The focus of our projects and giveaway today is ” Green” because……..of course……it is St. Paddy’s Day! Hoooooray! This is one of my favorite holidays. I love the parades, the Irish music and traditional clothing….. all of it!  So here is my green layout for today:

These photos are of my lovely oldest daughter and my dad’s tractor, and were taken this fall.  Converting them to black and white, made her sunny smile spring green perfect, however!

The flower is a Webster’s Pages “bloomer” that I shrank and shaped with my heat gun, on a base of a paper flower, that I made using Jenni Bowlin’s “Magpie” papers.

Again, I dug into my stash of Michaels after Christmas floral picks, and came up with these sparkling green leaves. Perfect, no? 🙂  They did need a bit of subduing however, so I used my Jenni Bowlin paint dauber in malted milk, and some Tim Holtz Distress Stain, to make it a tad more natural looking…….and less like a embellishment Liza Minelli may use on her hat. hehe.

I recently acquired a vintage typewriter, and, re-learning to type on a typewriter was a doozy. I did type all of the journaling for the strips on the outside of the page, and they are lightly covered in green acrylic paint (I used a credit card to apply it). I echoed the honeycomb/hexagon shape in the Magpie paper, with this stamp from Cocoa Daisy.

For those that don’t regularly follow me, I’ll explain that the title holds a lot of meaning for me. When these photos were taken back in October, my daughter was in the midst of a huge struggle, and she was just seeing the light. Seeing her smile genuine, beautiful, light filled smiles……was like a dream.  That’s why I titled this layout “So Glad to See You Smile.”

And now, what you’ve been looking for, right? My green giveaway? 😀

A Gauche Alchemy Mixed Media “Green Envy” Color Kit (they are sooooo fabulous, you can see what I did with just a few of the things in the white/pink kits in my previous post), and a Jenni Bowlin paint dauber in “Seed Packet” green (because I used one of these on my project, and…….paint is the bomb!)!

To be entered to win, just leave me a comment (with your email address, as well) by March 20th…….and if you like what you see here, please become a follower (I’d never MAKE you do that, hehe), I would be so grateful! I love each and every one  of my lovely followers and readers so much, and always feel blessed that they take the time to read my posts. ❤

Next, you should hop to Helga’s Blog!: www.helgapayawalvergara.blogspot.com
