Magical PossibilityPosted: July 29, 2014
In just a few weeks, my oldest daughter will be heading to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I am a mama in complete disbelief that this day has arrived so quickly. My girl is so excited, and the realms of possibility that are opening up to her are mind blowing to me. After the struggles we had for so long, this is beyond a dream come true. So, I decided to create something special to commemorate the short time left with her at home. 🙂
I was really inspired by Tusia’s beautiful mood board at Scrap Around The World, and decided that I wanted to participate in this challenge. I definitely pulled colors from the mood board? The different shades of blues, and the fuschia that pops. Also the natural and vintage elements are something I found so inspiring. My favorite of the images is the balloon dandelion.
When we did our move from Kansas….I left something very essential at home. My entire box of paper and kits!! I nearly cried when I realized it didn’t make it with me. BUT, I will be going back in just a few days, and it will return with me FOR SURE. For now, I have one pad of Tim Holtz paper I found in a local hobby store, and some amazing papers (and paints, inks, etc) from 13 Arts that I cannot wait to dig into. Not having my other papers, have shown me how much paper means to me in my artsy crafty life, though. hehe.
Ink, Paint (acrylic and watercolor), gesso, all went into this, and it felt wonderful to be creating. 🙂
Thanks so much for having a look today, and hope you have a magnificent start to August. I’m thrilled to be guest designing at 13 Arts for the months of August-October….I’m already creating ahead for that, because I have the time…which is more than a treat.
I’ll be back soon with more creations to share….and VIDEOS to share!!!
