Viva Las VegaStamps! DT TryoutPosted: November 25, 2013
Well, it’s that time again, for the Viva Las VegaStamps! design team call! In hopes I may be chosen again for this awesome team, with amazing stamps at our fingertips, here is my tryout post!
First, I have a tag (I’ve not shared on my blog yet), using several of my favorite stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps! (Though it’s hard to narrow that down). This piece uses the Nun Licking Gun, Stars 2 x 2 1/4 , Star Pin, and Cracked Background stamps, as well as plenty of religious ephemera I collected from discarded religious texts outside my library, and gave new life.
Next up, I have a couple of pages from a mini album, featuring the poems of Edgar Allan Poe……hence the title “POEms.” 🙂
For this project, I started with a Genuinely Jane Studios wood album page, and layered on vintage text. The stamped images on this page are Poe , and the moon face from Plate 924 (one of my fave plates evah).
The second page features the Man in the Moon stamp in the background, the moon from plate 924 again (because it’s perfect for this project), Nevermore , coffee ring stain , star pin, and Worn Clockface stamps complete the page.
Finally, I have a 6×6 mini album to share, that was dedicated to my 13-year-old daughter’s love of Dr. Who.
I have used the Grunge 1787 background stamp, in a technique (shown in a video) to create the striped background, as well as the Don’t Blink , Hello Sweetie , That’s Brilliant , and Union Jack Silhouette stamps on this mini cover. All of those fabulous stamps came from one awesome plate…925. A Whovian’s dream. 😉
Well, I’m excited to throw my hat in the ring for a possible second term for the DT of the bestest stamp store on earth. This past 6 months has been an amazing ride…and I’m so grateful. Good luck to all who are “going for it,” I can’t wait to see what you create!
